After spending some time reading Rushton’s work and the rebuttals to it I am able to see through his propaganda. I take it that you’ve watched the full video.

Here’s my brief interpretation of what occurred:

Rushton recited the scientific findings of his research and presented them as the evidence for his theory. Suzuki in addition to lambasting Rushton for peddling pseudoscience and arguing that his work should not even be dignified with a response presented the fallacies of his argument and the data that invalidates it.

Suzuki’s argument was that Rushton comes to his conclusions based on confirmation bias. He gathers data from numerous sources and presents them as evidence supporting his theory and then ignores or makes excuses for facts that do not fit the theory.

A prime example of this is that Rushton claims Northeast Asians are more intelligent than Europeans and Africans because Mongoloids selected for higher intelligence due to living in cold climates. If that is true Native Americans, the most recent derivatives of Northeast Asians should have also been exposed to this selection pressure for high intelligence prior to settling the American continents but they have lower average IQs. Rushton cannot explain this. He dismisses it as an anomaly.

Rushton cannot refute any of Suzuki’s arguments about how actual data on genetic diversity invalidates his theories and chooses to fixate on what he calls political arguments and emotional outrage over the calls of him to be fired. Most of the audience’s questions were not serious so they were not useful.

I regard Suzuki as the winner of this debate because he was able to make a positive argument Rushton cannot refute. It is true that he ignored Rushton’s data on twinning rates etc. and the reason is because none of that stuff proves his hypothesis. Just like Graves Suzuki recognizes that it is very easy to reach conclusions when you selectively collect data that appears to support your point view.

Regarding twinning rates Admin, other scholars have noted that there are environmental variables that impact twinning rates such as smoking and nutrition. The fact that twinning rates vary considerably within geographic populations and have changed considerably over long time periods indicates that variation in rates are not due to immutable evolutionary differences between populations which is the argument that Rushton wants to make.

Rushton wants to claim that any variation in biological or behaviorial data between ethnic groups is due to racial biology when it can easily be explained by environmental factors. Rushton is not a geneticist and does not know how to test his evolutionary theories which have been debunked by actual geneticists and evolutionary biologists.

Rushton is basically a data miner who makes his argument by attempting to present a plethora of data that in his mind could plausibly support his theories and shows no regard for the credibility of sources nor controls for variables to make the case that he has actually identified data that reflect genetic differences.

Suzuki actually did very well at dismantling Rushton’s arguments in this debate.

Great Video about Race differences. Nothing really new has happened in the last 20 years.

Phlippe Rushton makes a host of enormous scientific arguments. Dr Suzuki really disappoints by resorting to emotions and some extremely weak and wrong counter arguments to 1-2 out of 100 proofs Rushton had put up. His main argument was that Rushton should be removed from his job.

Rushton even taught students how to scientifically validate or disprove his arguments. His scientific rigor and argument reigned supreme.

I am inspired to put this video up as an example for Human Stupidity. The obvious plain truth, supported by 60 different proven race differences. Talked away by empty talk of a PhD with a political agenda.

Anyone wants to analyze the faulty logic of Suzuki? Like all Rushton says is wrong, but whatever he alleges Lewontin says is the unassailable truth. This proves Rushton is wrong.

Race does not exist but among 1000 babies, Asians have 4 twin births, white 8, blacks 16 and some black tribes 56. Any of the hair splitting definition arguing opponents have disproven that number? Twin births are socially constructed?

Ovaries react to social expectations in society? Probably out of luck to find excuses here. Everything later one can find excuses (which could be true but can be tested scientifically)

Gestation time. Different among races. Socially constructed? Blacks are born earlier? maybe better nourished? I thought it was the opposite.

Haven’t watched the rest yet, but I doubt Dr Suzuki will explain away twin births
