Human Stupidity: Irrationality, Self Deception

While I agree that purchasing pornography that only contains images, and footage, of people that are 18+, and then getting busted for it would suck. But.. Here’s the problem with your logic:
1) The tape was bootlegged, meaning there is no way to REALLY provide reasonable evidence that the actors are all of age. Maybe he should’ve bought a legitimate copy, no?
2) You are inferring that if someone were to have child pornography in their posession that is is a victimless crime? – What is wrong with you? You don’t know how it affects the children who are ‘actors’ in the film – and this legislation protects the exploitation of children. Furthermore purchasing, and viewng, such material supports those who make it, meaning they can continue to produce as it provides them sustenance. Thereby damaging the lives of more children and those who care for them.
3) You are defending those who produce and actively watch child pornography, saying they shouldn’t be in jail while they have a trial because they might get killed or raped? Excuse me, but measures are taken to ensure this does not happen. If an incarcerated person requests to be seperated from the general population out of fear for their lives, then it MUST be provided – that is the law – and so what if they get raped or hurt in prison? If you violate the rights of another – you had better be prepared for people trying to take away yours.
4) The time when the pornography was shot is irrelevant, had it been 10, 20, 30 years or even just the other day. Possession, and viewing of that child pornography is still supporting and providing a demand for others who may decide to produce.
5) The reason a sexually matured, but still underage, person is not allowed to participate in pornography is not due to whether or not they are pubescent, it is due to the fact that there is scientifically supported evidence suggesting that the majority of people who are not 18+ are not psychologically prepared for the consequences of their actions. In fact it is supported that most people will reach the final stages of mental stability past the age of 25, meaning: people below this age do not fully understand or possibly will not be able to fully cope with the decisions they make. Having said that, if a 16 year old girl willingly participates in sexual activity it may negatively affect her for the rest of her life. The fact that if she participates in sexual activity that is documented, and then sold to people throughout the world may affect her to an even worse degree.
6) Whether or not two teens who decide to have consensual sex with one another is, again, irrelevant: That is legal if they are of the consensual age. Which is usually 14 to 16. But again, documentation and distribution is illegal for the very same, and aforementioned, reasons.
7) People not understanding why these legislations are in effect is completely beyond me. It is a social menace, and a threat to the well-being of others. Ignorance at its finest if you ask me. I find it very ironic that this blog is designated under a site or title of: Human Stupidity. Seems quite fitting if you ask me.

Your research into these matters are not bearing any resemblance to an informed opinion. Perhaps you should read up on aspects Developmental Physchology, and how business models work. This was definitely the most disgusting, and disdainful commentary on legitimately well-founded legislation I have ever witnessed. I sure hope authorities have documented your IP Address and are casting a wary eye in your direction. Because this sounds an awful lot like the logic of people who avidly view child pornography.

As a disclaimer I will state that pedophilia is not something that can be helped. People are born that way. But that doesn’t mean they have to act on their desires, and while it may certainly be unfair that they possibly have to live their lives without sex just because of how they were born – it should be noted that the world is imperfect, and all we, as humans, can do is try to ensure that imperfection does not affect who don’t have to experience the effects.
